MNK Split Gasperov was founded
in
1985. and that year (season 1985/86) in III FUTSAL
league of Split city, under the name "Optimisti"
with coach prof.Velcic Vibor, won the 1st place. Players:
Kokeza, Babic, Kovacevic, Franic, Tomic, Kosor, Peric, Majic
and Lesina
.
1986/87 – "Optimisti Foto Olga" became the
champion of II Split FUTSAL league, and in next season (1987/88)
they won 3rd place in Ib Split FUTSAL league. That year the
team was strengthened with 3 players, long-standing captain
Burazer, Vidosevic and Galic and they started playing many
tournaments throughout Dalmatia, when first trophies came
into club showcase.
1988/89 – the club name has been changed into "Truman"
and the same year they became winner of Ib Split FUTSAL league,
winner of Split FUTSAL Cup and many tournaments.
1989/90 – "Truman" with coach Goran Petricevic
won the I Split FUTSAL league for the first time what was
repeated next year (1990/91) with another coach, Boris Tomic.
At that time, that was the highest organized FUTSAL competition,
on the local level only.
During above mentioned two years, "Truman" also
won the Cup winners Cup for Dalmatia and many other tournaments
in Dalmatia as well as reached the final of MARK competition
(teams from Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia & Herzegovina)
for the first time, playing under new FUTSAL rules 4+1.
1991/92 – "Truman-Elektroprijenos" with coach
prof. Edo Trivkovic and managers Jadranko Radovanovic and
Ivo Zokovic, plays its role in first historical Croatian FUTSAL
championship and won 2nd place, behind, at that time, untouchable
"Uspinjaca". Players: Kokeza, Babic, Kovacevic,
Burazer, Kosor, Vidosevic, Lucic Lavcevic, Peros, Piveta,
Mijic, Galic and Tikvica).
In the next season
1992/93 93 with coach Niksa Zokic
almost the same team, with Vrgoc and Macina who joined on
the beginning of the season, won the 2nd place again in Croatian
championship.
1993/94 – was one of the saddest year in club history,
as 1st place escaped again, but this time crucial match was
played in Split where winner takes all, but draw 0:0 with
future champion "Sokoli" put "Truman"
on the 3rd place at the end. Coach was Dragan Dujmovic.
1994/95 – "Truman Picasso" with coach prof.
Nikolic won 4th place and year later 3rd place in Croatian
championship – southern division, as those two years league
was split to two division (northern and southern).
1996/97 – was historical year for the club as name
has been changed again into "Split 1700" and also
the FUTSAL with Ballantines, club that used to play in Croatian
first FUTSAL league as well, took place. But, the most important
thing finally happened – Croatian futsal crown has been brought
to Split. However, despite the fact that 3 coach has been
changed during the season (prof.Nikolic, prof. Lovric and
Brko), Mijic, Tomicic, Blazevic, Burazer, Biskupovic, Brajko,
Stankovic, Kovac, Malvasija, Vidosevic, Males and Stanicic
had no real competitors and for the first time one club from
Dalmatia won the championship. Unfortunately, in Cup final
"Split 1700" has been defeated by "Uspinjaca"
in two home-away matches.
1997/98 – 3rd place in Croatian league has been taken
and Cup final again lost, but at the unofficial European Champions
Cup that took place in Spain played noticeable role and won
the 3rd place. Players: Mijic, Stanicic, Kosor, Delpont, Jakic,
Biskupovic, Burazer, Silic, Kovac, Blazevic, Vladimir, Malvasija.
1998/99 – many players (Mijic, Malvasija, Vladimir,
Delpont, Blazevic) left the club and the future seemed not
so bright, but combination of experienced and young players
with coach prof.Nikolic makes to won 6th place in the national
league.
1999/2000 – name has been changed again, but shortly,
for this season only, into "Plehan" and several
new, established players joined the club such as Jelovcic,
Alebic, Mikas and also Malvasija and Delpont came back. 2nd
place in the national championship has been taken as well
as 2nd place in the national Cup, what means Cup final has
been lost for the 3rd time.
2000/2001 – old name has been taken again and "Split
1700", with almost completely new team, takes double
crown for the first time in club history. Stanicic, Vujinovic,
Botic, Peraica, Simic, Osibov, Delpont, Podrug, Malvasija,
Kosor, Bonkovic and Gracanin with coach prof. Mato Stankovic
won the Croatian title in extremely thrilling home-away play-off
final against "Square" from Dubrovnik. The same
team has been beaten in the Cup final 3 weeks later with a
help of Tomicic and Alebic and finally Cup trophy comes to
Split.
2001/2002 – was the most successful in the club history.
Third championship and second Cup has been taken and second
consecutive double crown arrived in Split. But, this is the
year when 1st UEFA FUTSAL Cup took place where "Split
1700" performed outstanding role. First step was winning
qualifying group in Split and then 3rd place in 1st UEFA FUTSAL
Cup has been won in Lisbon.
Stanicic, Vujinovic, Bonkovic, Malvasija, Podrug, Osibov,
Delpont, Tomicic, Podlipec, Gracanin, Botic, Kestutis and
Pejovski with coach prof. Stankovic become part of Croatian
FUTSAL history and brand mark of this sport in our country
2002/2003 – totally forth, but third consecutive FUTSAL
title has been won in very convincing way as the difference
between first and second in the ranking has been growing after
only few matches played.
Robert Jarni, famous Croatian football player, who played
for Hajduk Split, Bari, Juventus, Real Madrid, Betis, Las
Palmas, Panathinaikos and participated in 3 World Cups ('90,
'98 , '02) joined the club.
In European competition, Split Gasperov won its qualifying
group in Czech Republic and played among last 8.
Croatian FUTSAL Cup won again what makes third consecutive
double crown, great achievement that will be very hard to
repeat. Players: Stanicic, Vujinovic, Malvasija, Podrug, Osibov,
Delpont, Tomicic, Podlipec, Botic, Pejovski, Jarni, Spar,
Salacan and Radolfi with coach prof. Stankovic.
